Divorce - general observations: |
1. It has been noticed that some of the divorced husbands refuse to receive any amount sent to them by their wives in exchange for Khul'a through the Council. Normally the draft is sent back to the woman because the Council has no intentions to retain it.
2. In some cases the woman leaves the dowry (especially the jewellery) with the Council in exchange of Khul'a. The husband is notified to come and collect the dowry but if he fails to collect it within six months, the dowry is donated to charity.
3. It is also noticed that some husbands do not accept the Council's verdict on the divorce. In such cases the woman should not worry as long as she is divorced, she is no more bound to him.
