Question:
I recently asked for my divorce case to be considered by the Sharia Council in Dewsbury. I have now received my divorce through the court and have been given a talaq-e-baain. What does this mean? And can i get any financial help during my iddat from my husband? I and my husband had been living separately before that for over two and a half years due to the problems we were having and it seemed at the end that this was the best solution for our relationship as communication and contact between both of us had broken down.
Please could you help me in responding to my query and email me back as soon as possible.
As to the matter regarding financial help i have asked you because the Sharia Council does not deal with this.
Answer:
Talaq bain means that your iddah has expired as well and your marital relationship has completely ended. Therefore financial help will not be due on the husband as well.
