What is the ruling of men wearing beards? |

The Prophet (SAWS) said, as reported by Abdullah ibn Umar (RA): 'Act against the polytheist, trim closely the moustache and grow your beard'. (Bukhari and Muslim)
Imam Bukahari also recorded the following saying of the Prophet (SAWS): 'Ten are the acts according to Fitra (nature): clipping the moustache, letting the beard grow, using the toothstick, snuffing water in the nose, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes and cleaning one's private parts with water'.
All four Imams (Malik, Abu Hanifa, Shafi and Ahmad) hold wearing the beard as an obligation and there is no difference of opinion about this issue among the Scholars of Islam.
