Welcome to the Islamic Sharia Council, UK and Eire. We are the oldest sharia council in Europe, formed in 1982. We are here to help the Muslim communities and offer Nikah services, divorce, mediation in inheritance disputes, mediation in inter-generational disputes, inheritance advice and general fatwa. Our scholars represent all four schools of jurisprudence and we have been privileged to help thousands of Muslims across the decades. We are members of the European Council for Fatwa and Research.

We are the oldest Shari’a Council in Europe, established in 1982, and were formed to solve the matrimonial problems of Muslims living in the United Kingdom in the light of Islamic family law. The Council comprises of members from all of the major schools of Islamic legal thought (madhab) and is widely accepted as an authoritative body with regards to Islamic law. The ISC maintains a strict policy of employing staff and scholars with the highest moral integrity and values.

The office is now open for clients and general enquiries from 10am-5pm Monday-Thursday.

Phone lines are open for general enquiries 11am-1pm Monday-Thursday.

Office doors and phone lines will sometimes be closed for staff training or meetings of scholars; these are generally on Wednesdays.
